The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas always feels like a whirlwind to me.

We got back from the Catskills on Sunday and set up our tree, which was wonderful!

Monday, Aidan, Kiana and I met up with Uncle Gabe, Aunt Karen, and cousins Miya and Siena downtown, and we all got real New York style pizza at Famiglia before they left to go back to San Francisco. Miya was thrilled to go to the American Girl store, and Aidan was thrilled to go on the trains! We visited the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center (while it was being set up), and saw some holiday department store windows as well.
The rest of this week, Mommy and Daddy have been trying to get work done that needs to be done before we leave for California on December 11th, putting together Christmas presents, and doing Christmas-y things. We ordered and wrapped gifts, had playdates, and tried to keep up with the kids, who for some reason are trying to switch over to California time a week early!

This weekend was actually nice and chill - we listened to a lot of Christmas music, watched Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and made fudge and gingerbread cookies (yum!). Sunday, Mommy and Kiana went to a ladies Christmas brunch while Daddy and Aidan had a guys afternoon on the trains. Then we all met up at home for dinner (curry rice) and bed.

This week we've learned from Aidan that he wants to be a "train scientist" when he grows up: he first wanted to be a train conductor, but he wanted to have Mommy, Daddy, and Kiana all be train conductors with him so we could work together; and he knows that Daddy works as a scientist; so, he decided that being a "train scientist" would create a solution that worked for everybody!

Kiana continues to roll around the floors like crazy. She flaps her arms up and down like she is trying to be a little bird. She also chews my chin when she wants to nurse. But my favorite thing she is doing right now is a nursing game that we are playing: while she nurses, she reaches for my mouth with her hands, and when I "bite" softly at it with my lips, she gives me the most gigantic smiles! :) I love it!
