Hope you all had a Happy Easter! Ours was good. Grandma and Grandpa Ruane (Gma and Gpa) drove down to spend the day with us, and it was good! They got here in time for the kids to find their Easter baskets (goldfish, M&Ms, & chocolate eggs, hooray!), and for all of us to have brunch together (ham, quiche, my mom's coffee cake - but with hazelnuts for the first time - yum~!, papaya and pineapple, and OJ). Then we all went to our church for an Easter service and another (big) Easter Egg hunt. Kiana continued to be thrilled to find goldfish in her eggs, while Aidan sought out chocolate (he gave away the jelly beans). During Kiana's nap that afternoon, the rest of us dyed eggs with natural colors (the beets and yellow onions were the best ones) and egg wraps (from our neighbor, Dorota - thank you!). Then we all headed off to the playground to enjoy the gorgeous weather before dinner. Aidan showed off his latest tricks (he can do three of our bars on the monkey bars now, as well as shimmying down the fire fighter-type pole AND climbing UP to the ledge using his feet, while just hanging on with his arms!) and Kiana tried her own (she loves balancing in the balancing beams and hanging from the monkey bars for a few seconds repeatedly with a determined and gleaming grin on her face!). Then it was home for dinner (salmon, shrimp, sweet potato french fries, salad) and dessert (chocolates and peach pie from Gma and Gpa and a liliquoi version of key lime pie I tried out for the first time). The kids were sad to say goodbye to their grandparents when they left, but it was a lovely (if high cooking intensity!) day.

Kiana:
- "Do Geppa house. PEAS!" [Go to Gpa's house, please!] (she is starting to ask for this almost every day! She ADORES him.]
