Together again

This week went pretty well, and on Thursday night, Daddy came home from his 12 day trip to Costa Rica and Panama! He met us in the park while we were eating ice cream, and when Aidan saw him, he ran straight toward him and gave him a giant, jumping hug! We are so happy to all be together again.

This weekend, we all went on an adventure to the Bronx Zoo together, and started preparing for a party we are having next weekend (for lots of celebrations: Mommy graduating with her Ph.D. Mommy and Daddy turning 30, and Kiana coming soon). We got fresh-frozen coconut milk from a little Thai grocery store downtown (hard to find but SO delicious!), kalua pig from L&L Hawaiian Barbeque downtown, and Mommy made terriaki chicken and ahi in coconut milk in giant quantities to freeze in preparation, and also experimented with making ahi poke and haupia - it was a lot of time in the kitchen Sunday afternoon, but the results were mouth-watering! :) It's going to pay off next weekend, and also when Kiana comes, with lots of yummy, easy food available. (Hooray!)

This week was also Aidan's last week at Renaissance Village daycare where he has been since August. He has gotten a lot out of going there, but is now switching to a new daycare which his favorite teacher (Ms. Nana) at RenVillage is starting up ("Nana's Blessings"), with some of his best friends from his old daycare (Rowan and Olivia). We're hoping that being with his favorite teacher and friends will make it a good place to be for Aidan, especially when Kiana comes.

Here are some of the rediculously cute things Aidan said this week:

- While being picked up from daycare, after hearing that Olivia (who is having potty problems) went to the bathroom all by herself: "Wow! Olivia! You are such a big girl!"
- While jumping naked on his bed after bathtime: "Look at these beautiful bare buns! Look! I can drum them like a drum!"
- While wandering around the living room, singing while playing with his trucks: "Mommy, I love you! Aidan, I love you! Aidan, I love you! That's what Daddy says."
- While putting his shoes on: "Mama, I love you! I think you're beautiful!"

:) (He is such a wonderful and amazing kid!)
